We built PetSchool to help you train your pet, not to harvest your data. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how you stay in control.

What information we collect

Plain English: We only collect what's necessary to run the app and improve your pet's training. We don't sell your data. Ever.

We collect several types of information when you use PetSchool. The table below explains what, why, and whether it's required.

What we never collect: location data, contacts, microphone audio, camera roll, or any information about other apps on your device.

How we use your information

Your data is used for five purposes only. We do not use your data for advertising, behavioural profiling, or any purpose not listed here.

Section 03

How we share your information

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with advertisers or data brokers. Full stop.

We work with a small number of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under strict contractual obligations:

We may also disclose your information if required by law, to protect the safety of users, or in connection with a merger or acquisition — in which case we will notify you.

Pet-Finder cross-app sync: If you use our Pet-Finder app, your pet profile data is shared between both apps within the Brilworks ecosystem. This sharing only occurs with your explicit consent at the time of import.

Section 04

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Specific retention periods:

When you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days. Anonymised, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be linked back to you.

Your rights and choices

You have full control over your data. Depending on your region, you may have the following rights — all exercisable directly from the app's Settings or by contacting us.

Push notifications can be turned off in your device settings at any time. We send a maximum of one reminder per day, and only at the time you choose.
Section 06

Children's privacy

PetSchool is designed for users who are 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at digital@brilworks.com. We will promptly delete such information upon verification.

For users in the EU/EEA, the minimum age is 16 years unless local law provides for a lower age of consent. Users between 13 and 16 in these regions require parental consent.

Security

We take security seriously. PetSchool implements the following measures to protect your data:

AES-256 encryption at rest for all user data
TLS 1.3 for all data in transit
Passwords hashed using bcrypt, never stored in plain text
Regular security audits and penetration testing

Despite our efforts, no security system is impenetrable. If you discover a security vulnerability, please report it responsibly to digital@brilworks.com. We respond to all security reports within 48 hours.

Child Safety & CSAE Policy

PetSchool by Brilworks Software has a zero-tolerance policy toward Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) in any form. This policy applies to all users, content, and interactions on our platform.

Strict prohibition: PetSchool explicitly prohibits any content, behaviour, or use of our platform that constitutes or facilitates Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE), including but not limited to:

Sharing, uploading, distributing, or viewing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) · Grooming, soliciting, or exploiting minors in any way · Any communication or content that sexualises individuals under 18 · Using our platform to facilitate offline contact with minors for exploitative purposes

Detection and prevention: We employ the following practices to prevent CSAE on PetSchool:

Measure Description
Content moderation User-uploaded content (e.g. training videos) is reviewed and may be scanned using industry-standard hash-matching tools to detect known CSAM
Account enforcement Any account found to be involved in CSAE activity is immediately suspended and reported to the relevant authorities
Mandatory reporting We report any discovered CSAM or CSAE activity to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate fully with law enforcement
Age-appropriate design PetSchool is designed for users 13 and older; features and content are age-appropriate and do not target or expose minors to harmful material

Reporting CSAE: If you encounter any content or behaviour on PetSchool that you believe constitutes Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation, please report it immediately to our dedicated Child Safety contact:

All reports are treated with the highest priority and confidentiality. We respond to child safety reports within 24 hours. Where required by law, we will report confirmed CSAE incidents to the appropriate national authorities and regulatory bodies without delay.
